Referral conditions
After a prior written complaint has not led to a satisfactory resolution, a consumer may refer a dispute within the body’s scope. The request must be submitted no later than one year after that complaint. The dispute must not already have been considered or be under consideration by another mediator or a court; other eligibility conditions are available on the body’s website.
Mediation is free for consumers. Any advisory costs they choose to incur remain their responsibility. Participation is voluntary; parties may accept or reject the proposed solution and refer the matter to the competent court.
Business-to-business disputes are not covered by this consumer mediation scheme.
